These summary statistics represent Atrial fibrillation case-control analyses in the Japanese population as represented in the BioBank Japan. In the discovery set, a total of 8,180 patients from BioBank Japan who suffered from persistent atrial fibrillation or paroxysmal atrial fibrillation diagnosed by a physician. For controls, genotyping information for 28,612 individuals was collected from population-based controls. Individuals were exclued from the control population if they had a history of arrhythmia. The case–control GWAS was performed using logistic regression analysis by incorporating associated principal components, age and sex as covariates. Whole-genome imputation analysis to the reference panel was based on the 1000 Genomes Project Phase I integrated release version 3 for individuals of East Asian descent comprising Japanese from Tokyo, Chinese from Beijing and Chinese from southern China.
